A Taste of the States

Or so was the aptly named Charity Dinner on June 28th hosted by Sant’Anna Institute and catered by our Johnson & Wales University students who served about 50 guests with a 4-course meal of American dishes. Our mostly Italian guests were treated to both amazing food and hospitality from the culinary students from Providence, RI.

The entire proceeds will be donated to 12 local families in need.

The event was a truly community affair. The dinner was hosted at the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel – Sorrento thanks to Chiara Cocurullo. Wine was provided by Feudi di San Gregorio. Thank you also to Rotaract Club Sorrento for their donation and participation and Le Amiche del Museo Correale.

The dinner was the first for Sant’Anna and the Johnson and Wales students during their faculty-led program in Sorrento. Their 4-week program allows the students to get hands-on experience in many Italian culinary specialties and world-class restaurants in the Sorrento area. This year, students put their culinary, event planning, and hospitality skills to practice during the dinner, to great success.

Also a special thanks to Professors Piyavan Sukala and Don Schoffstall of Johnson and Wales for leading their group with passion and enthusiasm.
