We ended our first month in Sorrento with a meal to remember! Intern, Tsu Zhu, arranged and hosted an interactive dinner party at her employing location of Ristorante Tasso.
Friday, January 31st Sant’Anna students gathered outside of the restaurant, located off of Piazza Tasso hungry for a fresh gourmet meal and a learning experience! The three course cooking class began by each student preparing our own desert, cleverly chosen to be tiramisu.

3rd course – Delicious tiramisu!

As the mascarpone cheese settled and chilled, we proceeded to create our first course; a fresh pasta dish. Getting our “hands dirty”, we kneaded riced-potatoes, flour, and raw egg to create the freshest gnocchi we have ever tasted!
Two courses down, we were then guided through the preparation of fresh cut French fries and fried chicken breast filets.
Full from the other two courses, we struggled through the many layers of our highly anticipated deserts. Having learned first-hand from Italian chefs, we left the restaurant full of food and knowledge!
